I go by the name Lowe Koko and I’m a 24-year-old artist based in Vancouver, Canada.

How it started / background..

Background in stagecraft as a scenic painter and home interior / commercial space painting.

From a young age, I have always had a deep love for art in general. Especially, I've always been into music since I was young and I’ve always wanted to give the similar impact that music always has done to me with my creativity somehow.

I studied stagecraft in college for two years with the intention of being involved in the music industry to learn the creative production. And that’s where I learned basic techniques of scenic painting for theater. Using the techniques I learned I started making my own painting arts and started teaching myself how to use oil painting. I enjoyed being backstage and being part of the production yet I desired to create my own art that has my message and meanings.

Creating art and painting was my way of expressing feelings and emotions and it has always helped me feel better. During college, I started posting my art on my Instagram and that’s where my journey started. I loved seeing comments about how my art inspired others. I started getting commission orders and seeing customers happy with the paintings I created made my heart filled with so much happiness! This ignited my passion for creating art that inspires others. This is how I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time artist.

The meaning behind the painting/ my goal

As I mentioned above, I’ve always loved music since I was a child and I firmly believe that music possesses an indescribable power. And my goal is to evoke similar emotions through my art. 

I hope to inspire and encourage others, just as music has always done for me. Growing up, art always inspired me in countless ways.

I aim to create art infused with love and good energy that has the power to impact you or your space. I simply wish that my art somehow makes people happy and inspired.

Media I use

 While acrylic paint used to be my primary medium, I have taught myself how to use oil painting, which has now become my preferred medium.

What kind of art I make

My art is mostly inspired by music and fashion culture. I deeply appreciate the creative culture and artists so I strive to capture its true essence through my paintings.

My goal is to share the dynamic energy of the creative culture that was built over the decades through my artwork.
